Baked Whole-Wheat French Toast with Apples (also low-carb version)
Baked French Toast is any easy way to enjoy my favorite breakfast - and the apples add a lovely sweetness. Use low carb bread and sugar substitute for a low-carb option.

- homemade pie filling of any fruit like simple baked apples (see link above)
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar or sugar substitute
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 pieces whole-wheat or low-carb bread (or use any yummy flavored bread)
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Melt butter in 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Add brown sugar and Harvest Apples; stir well.
Whisk eggs, milk and vanilla extract in medium bowl until well combined.
Dip bread into egg mixture; place on top of apples.
Bake in oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until bread centers are firm.
